Worship music has existed since Biblical times.

We define worship music as praise, prayer, and proclamation.

Worship music is praise to God in many forms when it comes from a true heart posture of love and reverence to God, whether it is a hymn, doxology, psalm, or canticle.

Worship music is also prayer, as this is a way to communicate with God, and looking back at the psalms, we can see that they were prayers written to music. David was a musician and used the psalms to write down lyrics that could be set to music as a form of prayer and praise.

Worship music is also a proclamation in the church, proclaiming the truth of God. Worship music should and, for the most part, does teach the truth of Scripture, recount God’s work, remind the church of God’s promises, and call people to repentance.

There are many other ways to describe worship music, but these are the defining features. Worship is more than music, and music is not always worship, but worship music holds a special place in biblical and church history, and is continuing to accomplish these purposes in order to bring glory to God and turn hearts toward Jesus.

In this site, we will explore the history of worship music, the power of the Bible, the power of worship, and popular worship artists today. I hope this website provides you with practical knowledge on worship music and inspires you to worship God continuously.

"Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!" - Psalm 95:1
